The Phone Call
Around 4 pm, I've received a phone call that I've been waiting for. A representative from IDP called to inform me that I've been accepted to Curtin Uni to pursue my Master. YAY!! It's a conditional offer though. I have to get 6.5 in IELTS. But I know I will be able to rock it!!
But I told him to postpone my enrollment to next intake which is the Feb 2011 intake. He said he'll be able to do it. So fingers crossed again everyone!!
I told Lawrence about the news. He was excited but not as much as me. Then we checked in google map about how far is the campus from his place. Isn't google the best? Anyway, it will take around approximately 57 mins. WOW!
I need to walk a short distance from his place to the bus stop. Take a bus from there to the bus depot. From there, take another bus to Bentley. Then I have to walk quite a distance to the campus. Imagine if the faculty is very far from where the bus drop me. Wow! I don't need to hike anymore. This is a workout itself.
But it's ok. He said he finish at 3 pm so, he'll be able to pick me up if my class finish after that time. But I'm thinking of waiting for him to finish work so I don't need to go back on my own. Driving would take about 15 to 20 mins. Isn't he great?! I love him so much.
He bought a choc today. It's dark choc and a touch of sea salt. I was like WTF!! Sea salt?? Don't believe me? Look at the pic.
Tomorrow he'll be buying a chili flavor. Yeap, you heard me. Chili flavor. I will take a pic of that tomorrow.

Dinner on Skype
Lawrence and I had dinner on skype tonight. We didn't actually plan this, it was a spontaneous thing.
We were talking on skype as usual. Then he said he's going to cook dinner and suggested we had dinner together. It wasn't the first time we had a meal together on skype. But this is the first time I blog about it.
Yesterday was his first time using rice cooker. He asked for some pointers. Being an asian, of course I did the honor of teaching him.
But the rice recipe he did it on his own. He's a natural chef. Maybe cause all the shows in travel and living channel he watched.
That's fine by me. I love a guy that know his way around the kitchen. I think it's sexy that a guy can cook. And he knows I love it. That's why he suggested that we do skype in the kitchen too. So I can watched him cook. I think he just wanted to show off.
Or maybe cause he wants to compete with an Italian guy I've dated. I told him that the Italian guy cooked for me on the first date.
Anyway let me talk about his recipe. He created himself. Not bad for a first timer. I'm thinking it taste good. But there are some things that I wouldn't add into the rice.
In the rice cooker: rinsed rice, a can of cream of corn and green peas. Top up water enough for the rice to cook. Let it cook in the cooker. He added hot chili sauce after it cooked, I wouldn't do that. I would add it on my plate instead, not into the cooker.
He fried ( not deep fried ) two fillets of beef. Make it medium rare. He's an expert in meat. He can make a mean piece of steak. Yummy! Cut the meat into small pieces and mix them into the rice cooker when it cooked.
I don't know about you guys but it looked so good, my dinner tasted bland.

Long Distance Relationship

As long as I have remembered, I had always in a long distance relationship. It's the matter of how long is the long distance. My earliest relationship was a guy from Penang. He didn't live very far, probably just 30 minutes away. Then I moved to KL for my uni. Now, that's become a long distance.
My second bf is from well up north, way way way north. I'm talking near to the border of Thailand north. It wasn't too bad. Only 1.5 hours by bus. He's French by the way.
My current bf, who I love so so so much, lives in Perth. Now, that's a long distance.
I guess what I'm trying to say is being in a long distance is hard. I learned that the hard way from my two previous relationships.
It takes great amount of trust. By trust I meant by trusting your partner not to cheat on you. In long distance relationship, your mind and imagination can be your worst enemy.
Why didn't he pick up? Why didn't he sms me? What is taking him so long? What is he doing? Why is he staying up so late? Those are the common questions that might be running through your head.
Communication is the key here. Talk everything through. How you feel about his behavior. Even though it hurts, pour it all out. If you want him to do certain things like sms you every morning, tell him. Because in long distance, you can't possibly see what's going on the other end. And also remember, he's not a mind reader.
I learned that the hard way too. Lawrence was moving to Perth ( he's from Sydney ). He was busy with packing and all but he always find time to talk to me. Then suddenly, he went cold. No sms, no calls, no nothing. I was hurt. Really hurt. My mind was imagining the worst scenarios.
The breaking point was I started to ignore him too. Then we argue. It's silly actually. Well considering we were arguing through sms. Then I found out what had happened.
What I'm trying to say, communicate please. But it's a two way streets. He has to want to talk too.
In a long distance relationship, SKYPE is your best friends. You can talk for hours and hours and not get a hefty bills in the end. Our records : 7 hours of skyping non-stop. Can you beat that?
Long distance relationship shouldn't be permanent. Should not, should never be. If both of you click, and both of you want a future together, plan it. Plan for the future. Get your ass there or he move here. Like I've said, communication. Discuss the possibility of relocation and who should be doing that.
I would not encourage anyone having a long distance relationship. But I also know no one can control their feeling. If you're happened to be in a long distance relationship, all I can say is GOOD LUCK!

My Life So Far

My life so far:
1. I'm 26. I felt like I'm still 20. Still discovering new world. Still have a lot to learn. I'm still taking baby steps.
2. I'm in love. An Aussie guy. Very much older than me. 10 years older to be exact. But contrary to people perception, he looks like he's 30, maybe younger too. I guess I hit the jackpot.
3. Planning my future with him. Applied for my master in Perth, where he is right now. Haven't got any word from the uni yet. Finger crossed everyone!
4. Working real hard. Saving up as much as I can to move to Perth. I don't want Lawrence to fork out a lot of money while I'm there.
5. Starting a new blog just to blog about my new life and my journey to achieve it. I hope I can update it as much as I can.
